And he did expound unto him the scriptures, from the creation of Adam, laying the fall of man before him, and their carnal state, and also the plan of redemption, which was prepared from the foundation of the world, through Christ, for all whosoever would believe on His name - Alma 13:45
The Great Plan of Redemption
Through Adam and Eve's transgression in the Garden, all mankind became spiritually and temporally separated from God. We became a lost and fallen people. However, this was part of God's merciful plan. For we could not become agents unto ourselves, and thereby know joy, if we did not experience opposition. Thus, because man became lost, there had to be a way for them to be reclaimed from their fallen state.
Below are twelve principles found within the Gospel of Jesus Christ which outline the plan of our redemption and salvation. Beginning with the creation and ending with eternal life, each principle contains scriptures references found in the King James Version of the Bible.

The Creation
God is Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. He created things to bear witness of Him and formed man after His own image.

Jesus From the Beginning
Jesus Christ is eternal and from the foundation of the world. He is the light of the world, the Lamb who was slain

The Fall of Man
Because of Adam and Eve's transgression, man was spiritually and temporally separated from God

Redemption through Christ
Because of transgression, death reigned over all, but through Jesus Christ we have victory over death and a promise of the Kingdom

The Church and Authority
There is one body, or in other words one Church, and Jesus Christ is the head and chief cornerstone. God chooses those to represent Him and minister in Christ's stead

The Gospel of the Kingdom
The Scriptures are inspired by God and the Gospel is the power unto salvation. Jesus died for our sins but lived to preach the Kingdom

The Falling Away and Restoration
The Lord God has warned through the prophets and apostles of a falling away from the doctrine of Christ. And because men broke the everlasting covenant and changed the ordinances, heresies entered into the Church and it fell into apostasy.

The Book of Mormon
The Book of Mormon is a second witness of Jesus Christ, containing the plain and precious truths of the everlasting Gospel. For it speaks of Jesus Christ and persuades them to believe in Him, and to endure to the end, which is life eternal.

Zion and the Second Coming of Christ
The Lord desires a city set on a hill that will glorify Him. A place where Jesus Christ will return to reign on the earth for a thousand years.

Eternal Life
Every soul, both good and evil, will be judged according to their works in this life and will receive the wages of whom they have listed to obey. The greatest gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
